Now and then, it can be a steady pleasure to dip into the years and pull up an older movie for a night of “couch tatering.” Not that this is such an “outmoded” movie… but used enough that the differences between today’s special achieve dazzle and flash and 1969 are evident in pacing, dialogue, general style. Today’s movies sometimes are lost in technical fireworks. This movie pleases with its simple quality of superb actors who interact well with each other and stand on their believe acting strength without too many fireworks.

And aloof, the director, James Goldstone, deserves kudos for his creativity and innovativeness throughout the movie. The opening scenes are new for 1969, beginning with a close-up of a buttery yellow dandelion, bright through clips of families and racing fans gathering together. Of brand are clips at the Indianapolis run track – a scene of a misty morning at the track the day of the Indy 500, scenes of fans entering the park, hasten car drivers and mechanics in tense preparations, increasing adrenalin, burgeoning crowds. I have yet to befriend the Indy 500, but seeing these scenes certainly made me hope that soon enough I might.

My fellow “couch taterer” and I had engaging conversations offering the male/female viewpoint on the scene of infidelity that centers the position – the reasons slack the betrayal, if not excuses, the ramifications to all alive to, including the son played by Richard Thomas, the responsibilities befalling all, the likelihood of a reuniting at movie’s kill.

In short, when a movie catches your imagination, makes you want to visit the spot and event portrayed, and gives food for understanding and discussion at its waste, then this is a movie worth adding to a collection, whether one is a urge fan or not.

This movie is often mentioned as a member of the spacious pantheon of classic urge movies, and it does belong there but it is more of a bottom feeder compared to “Mammoth Prix” and certainly “Le Mans”. It is not the quality of the bustle footage or the throughout titanic performances of Newman, Woodward, and a very junior Richard Thomas, impressive on his movie debut. It is more the script that is the pickle, and the movie lacks crucial time in the beginning to accomplish the characters and their relationships. Robert Wagner is a aged link in this movie since he never establishes himself as the friend and rival of the Newman character Frank Capua, and the whole delivery of his fraction in the affair with Capua’s wife is ancient. Where “Le Mans” does very mighty with dinky words, this movie sometimes fails to build the relationship drama in key scenes, yet is very touching at times.

The track drama on the other hand is captured flawlessly, and the viewer gets some very intriguing impressions on how the Indy 500 were race in the slow 60ies, fair before the hayday of the snakepit. With the upright level of expectation this is an savory movie, and the quality of the DVD leaves nothing to desire.

Falcon Joystick Review

To be honest, I made a leap of faith when I bought Novint Falcon. After learning about the Falcon of the Steam forums, I have a week of research. Never before had personally seen or touched the device in action. I checked all the supported games, read, and not see any videos that I found that (I recommend). In the end I decided it was worth the risk and bought it.

So, 'I am satisfied with my purchase? Yes I am. I have no regrets about getting the Falcon ever.There is literally nothing else out there, as for games. I had the Falcon for several months and never get tired of it. The forces of recoil and give new life breathed into games supported. Speaking of support, now, as Novint has released beta drivers (as it is written Beta2 is nearing completion), the Falcon can be used with any program and uses a scripting system to allow their forces. There are a number of plug-ins to expand on hold competence Gene F. Socan expect a series of bronze, silver watch, gold and supported games on the F-early gene (FalconHD is integrated support for the game).

I know many of you out there can watch the Falcon players are so let me answer two important questions for you:

I’ve had a set of QC2’s for about 5 years – simply can’t travel without them – addicted. Just bought the QC15’s BTW – less is less right? I have a set of Skull Candy earbuds for my Samsung Instinct phone – nice buds, good phone, but I had to max out the volume and still couldn’t hear conversations if a plane came overhead or a car came by – annoying. I got these last night, and after some quick repair work (below), I tried them out – fantastic! I immediately turned my phone volume down from 8 to 4 and the conversation was superb. WRT the other review, I had no problem hearing myself – just like talking while your QC2’s are on – not an issue with me. The one issue I DID have – when it showed up, it wouldn’t seat into the connector base of the headphones. I discovered the insert has a small (1/4″) notch up one side – apparently to seat with newer QC2’s(?). Well, my QC2’s have no “innie” for that “outtie” – so I filed it off in about 2 minutes. Seats perfect and sounds perfect. Without the notch issue, this is a 5 star piece and a GREAT add for anyone who wants perfect conversations. Comes with 4 phone jack adapters – I have a 3.5mm jack insert on my phone – that’s standard – no need for the adapters. Nice touch though…
